We hope you’ll join us this summer at any of four scheduled KTWH Catch the Wave Music concerts, hosted by Two Harbors Community Radio. Join us for our final community outreach event of the summer, The KTWH Catch The Wave Freewill Concert at the bandshell at Thomas Owens Park in Two Harbors, Sunday September 8 from 3:00 – 5:00. Two Harbors native, Hannah Rey will be there with her awesome style, guitar and voice to get the music started and then the full Duluth rock band, Janie & The Spokes take the stage. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, maybe a picnic lunch and your own refreshments, your family and good spirits and enjoy an afternoon community, friendship and music in the park. Good Will Ice Cream Ambassadors from The Moose Lodge of Two Harbors will be there with free treats. Leashed dogs are welcome. In case of rain, the concert will move across the street from the park to The United Church of Two Harbors. Tune in to KTWH at 99.5 FM or stream, ktwh, org.

Cool music on a summer’s day is the stuff of dreams, but KTWH is bringing that scene to life again this summer. You can enjoy three FREE concerts at the band shell in Two Harbors on dates in July, August, and September, with five local artists and one musical friend with a north shore connection. The shows at the band shell in Thomas Owens Park will include free frozen treats from local organizations and businesses. We have an indoor option in case of rain at United Church across the street for each of the band shell concerts.

Come on down to the bandshell park or the Farm Fest to hear the music and meet your neighbors from community radio we’d love to discuss your programming ideas, and you can check out some of our KTWH-themed merchandise.

Thanks to our listener members and Lovin’ Lake County for the support to bring visitors and area residents outdoor entertainment in this second year of our KTWH Catch the Wave Music series, which we hope to make a north shore tradition.

In the fall of 2022 KTWH started running a series of conversations with Gooseberry Falls State Park Naturalist Michaela Rice. A Minnesota born wildlife biologist, Michaela has embraced many venues for reaching out beyond visitors to Gooseberry to share insights and wonders of the seasons on the North Shore with the local community. We hear reports of what she is observing in the park as well as across the area’s shorelines, fields, lakes and streams, forests and skies.

Check out Wandering Nature News every other week on KTWH, almost always in the 8 am hour during Leo Babeu’s Across Divides morning variety program. Topics range from what’s blooming to how the birds know when to migrate, to fun facts about creatures great and small, and concerns for the health of our forests and waterways. Sometimes we’ll invite special guest resource experts on diverse topics that have ranged from loons to removing lead from our outdoor gear, from feral hogs to forest health. The conversation takes many turns as we sometimes migrate into environmental topics like climate change and threats from invasive species We always keep our eyes and ears on the phenology highlights radio listeners can find in every Northland season. Hear it only at 99.5 FM or streaming online at ktwh.org.
